Hematology is a branch of medicine that studies the diseases of the blood and the tissues that produce it. It has 3 branches: a benign branch (anemia, decreases in leukocyte and platelet numbers, etc), another oncological branch such as lymphomas-leukemia-multiple myeloma-myeloproliferative and myelodysplastic syndromes, to name a few. The third branch covers coagulation disorders (bleeding-thrombosis).
