About me

I am the founder of INGUZ - Sports & Preventive Medicine, which is a clinic focused on the management of patients with chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes, obesity, etc ...) and nonsurgical treatment of sports injuries.

Being an athlete with over 22 years of practicing different sports, and now from the standpoint of Sports and Preventive Medicine, I seek to implement individually and personalized protocols for the management of my patients.

Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Medical Sciences (UCIMED)

I am also a part of the faculty of the UCIMED, mainly in the Training Center for Medical Emergencies and Trauma; where I serve as instructor for basic and advanced CPR training (ACLS / BLS).

Since 2015, I am part of Multispa Institute where I teach the a Specialization in Personal Training.

I also am part of the staff of Multispa Medical, where I am responsible for patients requiring Exercise and Preventive Medicine.

I am an active member of the Colegio Americano de Medicina Deportiva, international body that dictates guidelines and international consensus for the management of active people and sedentary people who want to be more active.

I am the only costa rican certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFAM) which is a system that allows a functional orthopedic assessment, applied to different movement patterns that are used in several sports and based on that, detect dysfunctiona painful patterns and treat them.

I also count with the Team Physician certification, which is a certification endorsed by the ACSM, which enables you to take care of patients, treat them in various sporting events, provide consultation on the spot and give them a proper injury management and recommend a exercises and rehabilitation to reduce the time of return to activity.
